The Trial of John Williams, Francis Frederick, John P. Rog, Nils Peterson, and Nathaniel White on an Indictment for Murder on the High Seas

Boston: Russell and Gardner, 1819. 99 pp. Bound with two other incomplete murder trials. The binding is worn, with ownership signatures in ink. The men charged with murder mutinied on the high seas, threw the Captain and Mate overboard, and absconded with the ship and a large sum of money. They headed to Norway but were eventually brought back to Boston to be tried for murder and piracy. The first edition was 92 pages, and it was reprinted with an additional 7 pages containing a verdict stating the men were to be hanged. This 99-page edition is scarce. Two other defective crime pamphlets follow this complete piece. Item #2808
